Its the shell casing im pretty sure, unlike most firearms, the shell casing stays in a revolver after being fired and has to be manually removed, its not ejected automatically which is the case for most firearms

this is a good anime but I swear their backstories are somehow vague, it feels blur to me.

They all have a deep, often dark, past and they try to deal with it. So far it's been working but I have a bad feeling about Spike's approach to all this.
